Firing Dallas Eakins ‘would be so unfair,’ says Taylor Hall

Their season started with a five-game losing streak. There is a four-game losing streak sandwiched in there, too.

On Saturday, the Edmonton Oilers were crushed on home ice. The Chicago Blackhawks came in and ripped apart their Western Conference opponents by a final score of 7-1.

And now the debate about the future of head coach Dallas Eakins in Edmonton is reaching another boiling point. Saturday’s loss was the sixth straight for the Oilers and it was a debacle from start to finish.

Five of these losses came during this home stand.

“Absolutely not. I would be extremely disappointed if that happened. That would be so unfair if that was the case,” said Taylor Hall, on the subject of if the Oilers need a new head coach, to reporters in a video posted on the club’s Twitter account.
