INDIANAPOLIS — Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy wants no part of looking ahead. He says it does not matter to him that he has an opportunity to establish himself as a starter in the NFL again. He will not look past next week’s game against the St. Louis Rams.
But that alone is significant. It means McCoy performed well enough on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts in a 49-27 loss that he will get to start again. Washington coach Jay Gruden confirmed that after the game. McCoy, at one time drafted to be the starter in Cleveland before his tenure there derailed, has another chance, but doesn’t want to think about it. It won’t do him any good to put that extra pressure on himself.
