BOSTON (CBS) – Whoops!

It looks like Facebook, the seemingly-harmless online time-wasting service that has the proven capacity to snuff out careers in the time it takes to hit the “send” button, has claimed another hapless victim.

A congressional aide – communications director, no less, for a GOP congressman from Tennessee – has resigned after several days of backlash for a Facebook posting critical of President Obama’s daughters for their behavior at last Wednesday’s annual presidential turkey pardoning.

Perhaps you saw video of the event, in which 13-year-old Sasha Obama and her 16-year-old sister Malia couldn’t quite conceal their boredom and embarrassment as their father cracked a series of lame jokes, culminating in Malia’s response when the president asked her if she’d like to pet the pardoned turkey.
