Reality TV Star Teresa Giudice Slated For Early Release From Prison

DANBURY, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Just days after she reported to prison, officials announced Thursday that reality TV star Teresa Giudice is slated for an early release.

The Bureau of Prisons has cut the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star’s 15-month sentence by 54 days, CBS2 has learned.

She could also get additional days shaved off for good behavior.

Giudice reported to a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, on Monday morning to begin serving a her sentence for bankruptcy fraud.

She and husband Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice pleaded guilty last year and admitted hiding assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitting phony loan applications to get some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans. Joe Giudice also pleaded guilty to failing to pay taxes totaling more than $200,000.
